      What are Cookies?
When you visit our CASIO-Website, open our e-mails, or view our services online, we or an authorized third party may send you a cookie. Cookies are small text files located in your browser directory that may be placed on your device. When a website is accessed, a cookie that is placed on a device will send information to the party that has placed the cookie. Cookies are extremely common and used on a number of websites. Each cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the "lifetime" of the cookie, and a value (usually a unique number). For a more thorough explanation of what cookies are and how they operate, please visit https://www.aboutcookies.org/ or http://www.allaboutcookies.org/.

First Party and Third Party Cookies
Our CASIO-Website may place first party cookies and allow third parties to place cookies on your device. The difference between a first party cookie and a third party cookie relates to the control of the party who serves the cookie. First party cookies are cookies that are specific to the website that created them. Their use enables us to operate an efficient service and to track the patterns of behavior of website users. Third party cookies, on the other hand, are placed on your device by a third party (i.e., not by CASIO). While we may allow third parties access to the CASIO-Website to place these cookies on users’ devices, we do not retain control over the information supplied by the cookies, nor do we retain access to that data. This information is controlled wholly by that third party in accordance with their respective privacy policy.

      Session and Persistent Cookies
Our CASIO-Website may place session and persistent cookies on your device. Whereas the difference between a first party and third party cookie relates to the party controlling the initial placement of the cookie on your device, the difference between a session and a persistent cookie relates to the length of time the cookie lasts. Session cookies are cookies that typically last for as long as you are using your browser, or browser session. When you end your browser session, the cookie expires. Persistent cookies, as the name implies, are persistent and will last after you close your browser. This allows for quicker and often more convenient access to our website.

      Clear GIFs/Web Beacons
Clear GIFs (also known as Web Beacons) are typically transparent very small graphic images (usually 1 pixel x 1 pixel) that are placed on a website, which may be included on our services provided via our CASIO-Website and typically work in conjunction with cookies to identify our users and user behavior.

      7. Dealer search
On our CASIO website we offer you as a user the opportunity to search for the specialist dealer of our products who is nearest to your immediate location. For this purpose we collect from you your geo data; this involves you entering these data in a designated form (a) or clicking to allow your web browser to identify your location by means of IP address (b). To be able to display the right specialist dealer, CASIO uses the service Google Maps API, a map service operated by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google can be contacted at Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. In this way, we can display interactive maps directly in your web browser and enable you to use the map function conveniently.
        • Collecting the data by form
You have the opportunity on our CASIO website for the specialist-dealer search to complete a form in which you enter (optionally) the following details:
          • Your country
          • Your postcode or your town/city
          • If necessary, street/road name
Then click on “Find dealer” and the specialist-dealer search is activated. In this way, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the following data are communicated to Google:
          • Your IP address
          • Date and time of the request
          • The time-zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
          • Contents of the request (concrete page)
          • Access status/HTTP status code
          • Data volume transmitted in each case
          • Website from which the request comes
          • Your browser type
          • Your operating system and its interface
          • Your language and version of the browser software
This takes place irrespective of whether Google provides a user account via which you are logged in or whether no user account exists at Google. When you are logged in to Google, your data are assigned directly to your account. If you do not want your data to be assigned with your profile at Google, you must log out from Google before visiting the CASIO website.
You have the opportunity to disable the Google Maps service in an easy way and thereby prevent data transfer to Google: To do so, disable JavaScript in your browser. However, we remind you that in this case you will not be able to use the map display.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with "standard contractual clauses" with Google.
The use of Google Maps API is justified in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 b) GDPR since the data in the present case are required to perform the contract. We use Google Maps API to be able to offer you a map function so that you find the right specialist dealer as quickly as possible. If you consented to such processing, we use your browser data for the purpose of market and opinion research and optimization of our CASIO website as well as for personalizing your user experience with Google Analytics. The legal basis for the processing of your browser data is Article 6 (1) ( f) GDPR for the optimization of our CASIO website. We provide you with further information on the balancing test upon request.
For further information on the purpose and extent of data collection and processing by Google, please refer to Google’s Data Privacy Policy. This also provides further information about your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
        • Collecting the data via your web browser’s geo query
CASIO sometimes uses websites which facilitate location-dependent browsing. It is therefore possible for your web browser, before you enter the data independently, already to ask whether our CASIO website is permitted to access your location. As soon as you permit your web browser to approve the website with an active click, the browser transmits data (degrees of longitude and latitude) to the Google location service to determine your approximate location. The browser then releases this information for the querying CASIO website so that CASIO can display the right specialist dealer for you.
In view of data processing by Google, reference is made to Dealer search - Collecting the data by form above of this Data Privacy Policy.
The legal basis for processing is in this case Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 b) GDPR.
      8. Use of cookies and marketing measures
In addition to the data already referred to, different types of cookies are used and stored on your computer while our CASIO website is being used.

Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer or mobile terminal devices when you visit our CASIO websites. Cookies send us a variety of information.

All the information about the cookies we use can be found in our Cookie Policy.

Third-party cookies (i.e. not from CASIO) are also placed on your device on this CASIO website. We allow third parties to access the CASIO website, but we do not have any control over the information which is provided concerning the cookie and do not have any access to the data. All this information is provided by the relevant third party in compliance with the applicable data privacy policy.

        • Google Analytics
This CASIO website uses Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service. The provider is Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics is used to analyse user behaviour with a view to optimising both our website and our promotions. Google Analytics uses "cookies". The information generated by the cookie about the use of our CASIO website is transmitted to Google servers in the USA and stored there.

Our CASIO website uses Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. This means that your IP address is truncated within Member States of the European Union and within the other states that are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area ("EEA"). Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with "standard contractual clauses" with Google." As part of this agreement, Google undertakes to process user data only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the EU level of data protection.
Google uses this information on behalf of the CASIO website operator to analyse your use of our online service, to compile reports on website activity for the website operator, and to offer the operator additional services related to website activity and Internet use.

The use of Google Analytics is based on a legitimate interest as defined by Art. 6 Para. 1(a) GDPR, provided that you have given your consent when you visit the CASIO website. You may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. We will process your data only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose of data collection (in this case to compile and analyse statistics). The user identifications (e.g. user ID) and data connected to promotional IDs sent by us and by cookies are therefore automatically deleted after 14 months.
Information about the opt-out options are set out in our cookie policy.

For more information about Google Analytics and how the generated data is used, please refer to the Google privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy or https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html.
        • Google Remarketing
The CASIO website uses Google Remarketing functions. These operations work with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").

Google Remarketing uses cookies to display advertisements which are attuned to your personal interests. The tool collects and processes your truncated IP address, the cookie ID and user data for the CASIO website to enable CASIO to provide you with targeted product recommendations and advertising which you may be interested in. In connection with Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick the advertising target groups created in Google Analytics Remarketing are linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This enables interest-related, personalised advertisements which are relevant for you based on your previous use of and surfing behaviour on a terminal device (such as a mobile phone) to be displayed to you on a second terminal device (such as a tablet or PC). The DoubleClick Floodlight Cookie also shows us whether you have carried out specific actions on our website after clicking on or retrieving by DoubleClick one of our display/video adverts on Google or any other platform (conversion tracking).

If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browser history with your Google account. This allows the same personalised advertising messages to be placed on any terminal device on which you log into your Google account.

Data entered in your Google account are processed exclusively with your consent (Article 6 (1) a) GDPR). Further information is available at https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2453998?hl=en, https://www.google.de/doubleclick and in the Google data privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/. We have concluded a data processing agreement with "standard contractual clauses" with Google.
        • Google Tag Manager
This website uses the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States.

The Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows website tags to be managed through a single interface. The tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-free domain and it does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags that may collect data. The Google Tag Manager does not access this personal data. All cookies stored by tags implemented through the Tag Manager are "marketing cookies".

The legal basis for storing the cookies implemented in the Tag Manager is your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1(a) GDPR).

All marketing cookies used on this page can be found as an overview in the cookie policies, provided that "marketing cookies" are activated. If a domain or cookie is disabled, the domain or cookie will remain active for all tracking tags implemented with the Google Tag Manager.

For more information about the Google Tag Manager, visit: https://support.google.com/tagmanager/?hl=en
        • Google web fonts
This page uses "web fonts" provided by Google to show fonts in a consistent manner. The Google fonts are installed locally. No connection to Google servers is established.

For more information visit https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq or view the Google privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
        • Facebook
The CASIO website uses the "Facebook Pixel", which is provided by the Facebook social network operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or, if you are based in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook").
Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active

Facebook Pixel enables Facebook to identify visitors to our website as target groups for advertisements ("Facebook Ads"). We therefore only use Facebook Pixel to display the Facebook Ads placed by us to users who have also shown an interest in our website or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interest in certain topics or products that are determined by the web pages visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called "Custom Audiences"). We also use the Facebook Pixel to ensure that our Facebook ads address the potential interest of users and do not annoy them. We also use Facebook Pixel to understand how effective Facebook advertisements are for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users are sent to our website after clicking on our Facebook Ad("Conversion").

Facebook processes data under Facebook's guideline on the use of data. Accordingly, general information on the presentation of Facebook Ads are provided in Facebook's guidelines on the use of data: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Special information and details on Facebook Pixel and its functioning can be found in the Facebook help area: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.

Personal data collected by the Facebook Pixel are processed exclusively with your consent (Article 6 (1) a) GDPR).
        • YouTube
This CASIO website integrates videos using the service provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address is normally sent to YouTube and cookies are installed on your computer as soon as you go to a website which contains embedded videos. However, we have integrated videos in enhanced data protection mode (in this case YouTube still makes contact with Google’s Double Klick service but, according to Google’s data privacy policy, does not evaluate personal data). This means that YouTube does not store any more data about the user. YouTube only sets cookies when you click the video. Your cookie ID, IP address, device information, geodata and user behaviour are then sent to YouTube and YouTube then knows which video you have watched. If you are logged into YouTube, this information is assigned to your user account (you can prevent this by logging out of YouTube before watching the video). YouTube uses this information to show you customised advertisements on the Google websites. Further information about YouTube’s data privacy policy: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7585465?hl=de.

Processing is lawful in accordance with our legitimate interest in the dissemination of the contents of our website under Article 6 (1) f) GDPR. We will be glad to provide the information on which our balance of interests is based.
        • Emarsys services

This CASIO website uses services from Emarsys to analyse and optimise online marketing measures, as well as to personalise and automate our e-mail marketing. The provider of all the Emarsys services is Emarsys eMarketing Systems AG, Hans-Fischer-Straße 10, 80339 Munich, Germany (“Emarsys”).

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Emarsys containing standard contractual clauses, in which Emarsys undertakes to process user data only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with a level of data protection commensurate to that in the EU. By way of example, you can see the obligations Emarsys undertakes in this regard in the data processing agreement on Emarsys’ website at https://help.emarsys.com/hc/de/article_attachments/360006398553/DPA_Deutsch_Emarsys_eMarketing_Systems_AG_M_nchen_1.1.pdf.

Emarsys may share your information internally within the Emarsys group or with third parties. Emarsys states that, in principle, it processes the data solely in the territory of the EU and/or signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), unless CASIO has permitted processing in a country outside the EU and the EEA.

You can see the subcontractors that are based outside the EU and the EEA and with which Emarsys may share your data in Annex 2 of the data processing agreement, which can be obtained at: https://help.emarsys.com/hc/de/article_attachments/360006398553/DPA_Deutsch_Emarsys_eMarketing_Systems_AG_M_nchen_1.1.pdf.

The Emarsys services used by our CASIO website currently include “Web Extend”, “Predict”, "Web Channel" and the “Automation Center”; you can find more information on them below.

You can read Emarsys’ privacy policy at: https://emarsys.com/de/datenschutzrichtlinie/

          • Web Extend

We use the Web Extend API to manage customer contacts and deliver targeted market measures. The service also uses Web Extend cookies. You can find more information on the cookies in our Cookie Policy.

The Web Extend service enables us to create a central database for all our customer contacts and organise them in specific groups. Web Extend also enables us to place cookies and so obtain information on your use of the CASIO website so that we can offer a website that is tailored to you as precisely as possible.

If you have not subscribed to or registered for our CASIO newsletter, all the data on your visit to the CASIO website are collected in anonymised form so as to provide affinity models for products and generic recommendations, such as most-viewed or most-sold products.

If, however, you have subscribed to the newsletter, the data on your visit to the CASIO website are recorded in pseudonymised form on the basis of an ID. However, data is recorded in pseudonymised form only if you explicitly consented to profiling when you subscribed to the newsletter by checking the checkbox below the newsletter. If you have not consented to profiling, you are assigned the attribute “do not track” and no pseudonymised data are recorded.

The following data concerning you are recorded by means of the Web Extend API:

            • The operating system
            • The referrer URL
            • The IP address (encrypted and truncated)
            • Your e-mail address (encrypted)
            • Session and cookie IDs
            • Country

If you permit placement of cookies, Web Extend also records the following information on your surfing behaviour:

            • IP address
            • The browser
            • Cookie identifiers
            • Pseudonymised identifiers (external IDs or an encrypted e-mail address) for logged-in visitors
            • Information on your surfing behaviour
            • The ID of items you looked at

More information about the cookies used can be found in our Cookie Policy.

Web Extend enriches the existing data in the database with the information recorded on your individual surfing behaviour on our CASIO website by assigning the pseudonymised data to a contact ID and updating the profile for that contact in the Web Extend database. The pseudonymised data are linked to any contact data that may be stored in Web Extend and can be attributed to you only at that point.

You can find more information on Emarsys’ Web Extend and the other Emarsys services, as well as on how the data generated with them is used, in Emarsys’ privacy policy: https://emarsys.com/de/datenschutzrichtlinie/.

The user interactions and data recorded by Web Extend are shared with other Emarsys services. In our case, they include:

            • Predict
            • Automation Center
            • Web Channel

The use of Web Extend and the services below that interact with Web Extend is justified in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 a) GDPR on the basis of your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

The data are stored for as long as required to achieve the purpose for which they have been collected (in this case: customer management, and the creation and analysis of statistics). Emarsys erases your data as soon as we ask Emarsys to erase or return your data. That is the case, for example, if you have revoked your consent by notifying us.

You can prevent storage of the cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser software; however, we point out that if you do so, you may no longer be able to use all the functions of the CASIO website. More information on this subject can be found in our Cookie Policy.

You can deactivate enrichment of the profile created in the Web Extend database by not granting or revoking your consent to placement of marketing cookies in the CASIO cookie banner.
          • Creation of extended user profiles with Emarsys

Besides the Web Extend service, we use other services or functionalities from Emarsys that enable us, in cooperation with Web Extend, to create individual extended profiles for users of the CASIO website so that we can provide content that is tailored to you as precisely as possible.

            Predict web widget
Predict is an analytics service from Emarsys that is used by our CASIO website. Predict analyses the behaviour data collected by means of Web Extend on the CASIO website in the Web Extend database and uses these data to deliver personalised content on our CASIO website. That enables us to offer you content that matches your interests as closely as possible and to review and optimise our own marketing and customer retention strategies.

            Web Channel
The Emarsys Web Channel service enables us to present offers or campaigns tailored individually to you on our CASIO website.

          • Your country of origin
          • Your date of birth
          • Your personal brand preferences
We need your e-mail address to send you the newsletter. Any additional details on your part are voluntary.

You can cancel the newsletter subscription at any time by withdrawing your consent. Each newsletter we send you contains a link which, when clicked, automatically unsubscribes you from the newsletter. You also have the opportunity to send an e-mail to newsletter@casio.de or a message to the controller mentioned above in this Data Privacy Policy.

We use the so-called double opt in procedure for registering for your newsletter. In other words, we send you, after you have registered, an e-mail to the specified e-mail address in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to be sent the newsletter. If you fail to confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information is blocked and automatically erased after one month.

After your confirmation we store your e-mail address and the further details in order to send the newsletter. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 a) GDPR. We erase your data as soon as you have terminated your subscription to the newsletter or the subscription is terminated.

We also store in each case your used IP addresses and registration and confirmation times. The purpose of the procedure is to verify your registration and if necessary to be able to clear up any possible misuse of your personal data.
        • The legal basis for this is Article 6, Paragraph 1(f) GDPR.

          Processing by Emarsys
Our newsletters are sent by the distribution service provider Emarsys, a newsletter distribution platform provided by Emarsys eMarketing Systems AG, Hans-Fischer-Straße 10, 80339 Munich, Germany ("Emarsys"). To enable us to provide you with the most relevant information about CASIO products and CASIO itself, Emarsys also monitors whether you click on any of the links in the newsletter.

The links in the newsletter are associated with your contact ID in the Emarsys Web Extend service. For the purpose of analysing CASIO email campaigns, we make a note of whether you have clicked on any of the links in the newsletter.

Each of our newsletters is sent by our distribution service provider Emarsys and contains a tracking pixel. A tracking pixel is a graphic measuring 1 x 1 pixel that is inserted into the newsletter but is not visible to the average reader.
